A Route for  Worshippers

2022Bishanyan Kaizhang Shengwang Temple is situated at the peak of Bishan, and it is known for its thriving religious activities and rich history, gradually taking shape during the Jiaqing era. Through multiple renovations and expansions, it has become a significant temple in the hearts of residents in the Neihu area, often referred to as the "Grand Temple."

What remains unforgettable for me is the pilgrimage road leading from the foot of the mountain to the temple. Whether sitting on the bus or hiking up the mountain, each movement seems to bring me closer to the spiritual center of my faith.

Quoting Aldo Rossi, "Place is a certain relationship between a specific location and the buildings within it. It is unique yet universal." Along this approximately seven-bus-stop mountain road, due to the reverence and gratitude of worshippers towards the Kaizhang Shengwang Temple, the place (pilgrimage road) and the temple begin to establish a different status in the hearts and commemoration of the temple.
In my perspective, people who come to the temple by car need a parking lot with a roof to avoid the rain, and tourists arriving by bus need a bus stop with seats and a cover. Moreover, when I explored the entire route, I noticed that every curve in the road creates a sense of a wide-angle view.
